We currently are looking to add a Learning and Development Manager to our team!


Position Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to manage and implement training/staff development activities for the entire credit union. Oversees the daily operations of department; hires, trains, directs and evaluates employee performance within the department. Identifies training needs and designs support materials for all departments. Positively supports Adventure Credit Union's brand and promotes a service culture consistent with the credit unions' mission, vision, and core values and goal of being a Trusted Financial Guide.


Specific Job Functions include but not limited to:

  • Plans, implements and administers all credit union learning programs that align with organizational staff development and budgetary objectives to improve employee job performance.
  • Creates and maintains training materials including but not limited to presentations, worksheets, manuals, models, computer tutorials, resource library, and games to reinforce learning.
  • Responsible for the creation of leadership trainings and strategic trainings that impact Adventure Credit Union's culture.
  • Primary administrator of the credit union's online learning management system. Responsible to accurately record employee's educational progress. Provides reports to management upon request.
  • Conducts research, selects appropriate instructional methods, develops curriculum, presentations and handouts, schedules and conducts sessions and tests both new and existing employees on a variety of topics.
  • Measures and reports impact of training effectiveness. Analyzes results to improve staff development plans and suggests annual training budget recommendations.
  • Serves as a resource to organization in the identification and resolution of operational/management training and development issues. Identifies and communicates development challenges to appropriate individuals. Makes recommendations.
  • Collaborates with employees, management and HR to develop and present career paths for employees.
  • Evaluates the progress of employees in training, reports relevant training-related accomplishments/challenges to the appropriate supervisors and recommends solutions for employees that may need additional assistance.
  • Participates in cross-functional project committees to develop, offer insight, test and train on strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Completes regular coaching meetings and performance reviews in a timely manner and recommends salary adjustments, promotions and additional training. Provides regular feedback and recognition of staff members.
  • Promotes an empowerment culture. Holds staff meetings on a regular basis to communicate department and/or credit union vision, strategies and changes

Minimal Job Requirements include but not limited to:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum Three (3) years' experience in developing and delivering training to adult learners.
  • A minimum of one (1) year supervisory responsibilities.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
